Five girls from Clifford H. Smart Middle School received their Service to Scouting leadership bar: Aveah Harper, Ellison Brandon, Lyla Ranger, Sadie Weber and Zoey Crynick.

One troop from the district also had eight girls receive Bronze Awards during the past membership year. These Highest Awards are given to Girls Scouts who display leadership while engaging in group projects that benefit their community.

Loon Lake Elementary’s Troop 76072 came together to organize 24 bags full of female products and provided two bags to each of the elementary schools within Walled Lake Consolidated Schools to help ease the anxiety of period stigma and give the teachers who teach this subject an inventory to use. The Girl Scouts in Troop 76072 that received Bronze Awards are Addison Witherspoon, Alyssandra Borghi, Ava Mallett, Claire Stewart, Libby Perczak, Lily Paladino, Mackenzie Rajdl and Sammi Spears.

“We have a strong scouting community within Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, and we are proud to have the opportunity to highlight the achievements of these young ladies,” said Laura Baldwin, the Girl Scout Service Unit Manager for 501. “We are appreciative of the support that we receive from the WLCSD community as our scouts build courage, confidence and gain opportunities to lead as the next generation of leaders.”

There are 512 Girls Scouts registered in Service Unit 501, which serves Walled Lake Consolidated Schools.
