Loon Lake Elementary first grade teacher, Danielle Hager, received a Golden Apple Award at the September 4, 2025 Board of Education meeting.

Hager was nominated by Loon Lake Elementary colleague Natasha Gee for being a selfless person who is always there for, not only her students, but all of the students at Loon Lake.

“Danielle brings a smile to everyone and is always seeing the best in people,” said Gee. “She only spreads positivity and light to her colleagues, community and students.”

Hager goes out of her way to help everyone in the building. She puts an emphasis on ensuring her colleagues have the resources, support and knowledge they need to be successful.

“Danielle greets each of her students every day with a hug or high-five and makes sure to not just tell them how happy she is to see them, but shows them,” said Gee. “She brings encouragement to students who are not in her class as well, by giving them opportunities to volunteer in her classroom, read to her students, and always asks them how they are doing.”

Along with creating a long-lasting impact on her students, Hager continuously seeks professional development to growth as a teacher and shares with others what she has learned.
