The Walled Lake Consolidated Schools’ Board of Education appointed Bronson Goodsell the new assistant principal and athletics coordinator at Walled Lake Western.

“It is truly an honor to become part of a community with a rich tradition of academic excellence, school pride and commitment to all students,” said Goodsell.

Goodsell comes from Ferndale Public Schools where he served as the University High School athletic director for the past three years, as well as taught ninth and tenth grade social studies since 2020. While in Ferndale, Goodsell also launched a design-thinking initiative for students to encourage real-world problem solving within their community. Prior to arriving in Ferndale, Bronson was a middle school social studies teacher in Arizona while pursuing his Master’s Degree in Education Policy at Arizona State University.

“I am committed to building relationships with our students, parents and community stakeholders by being visible, approachable and taking the time to learn the needs of the school family,” said Goodsell. “This will allow us to engage with each other to continue to foster a learning environment that meets the needs of every student, every day.”

"We are pleased to welcome Bronson Goodsell to the Walled Lake Western Warrior family,” said Dr. Michael Lonze, Superintendent of Schools. "Mr. Goodsell brings a strong background in leadership and a passion for supporting both academics and athletics. We are confident he will be a fantastic addition to the Western community, helping our students succeed in the classroom, on the field and beyond."
